50 mm (2 inches) of rain was too much for this old concrete drain at the back of the house.

a  6 metre length collapsed on 24 October

The concrete was 5 1/2 inches thick

Although useful as stepping stones, we will have to reinforce this area

to prevent the slope falling in on the house.

As this, and many other structures here,

are remnants of the Lake George Mine operations which closed in 1963,

it is understandable that age will take its toll

At the SHC of NSW Picnic in the Park on

10 October Patches met up with his mother Ureka.

Yes, there is a strong family resemblance!

We went to the Dogs Breakfast in Canberra on 22 February

Organised by the ACT Government Parks Service, it proved to be a friendly and relaxed gathering of large and small breeds of dogs,

including Siberian Huskies, some of which were bred here, and now are happy pets in the city.

We caught up with some former rescues who had spent time here and are now happy and well adjusted family members.

Arthur and his brother Biko  -  the grey boy we called Buster

Ureka's last litter was born on Friday 13 February.

(Aust Ch / NZ Ch Eukanmanuva Ureka (Imp NZ)

They arrived one day after Caroline Yates' baby son Christian was born.  Perhaps this was Ureka's welcome gift to her owner's baby.

Our favourite is the red male, Roger Ramjet, pictured with Christian when both were aged 6 weeks.

The first Championship title of 2004 here at Mikulov was earned on 1 February 2004 by our lovely black male, Chad.
