26 July  ~  and the Tour De France Time Trial departed from Bergerac

A 54 kilometre sprint from Bergerac to Perigueux

We had front row seats, though in reality we parked ourselves at the fence as close to the Start ramp as possible, and watched as each marvellous rider stood on the pedals for maximum acceleration out of the Gate

So many bicycles    and   so much equipment lined the town streets

Everything is portable - erected in the morning and dismantled after the event is done for the day

Each rider sprints out of the Start gate, led out by one of these Gendarmes on a Motor Bike, and flanked by the television camera man, also on a bike

We spent most of the day on the left hand side of the road, just under that red flag
