Kurrajong Street - village of Captains Flat, NSW

View from the street as you approach the house This house was a wooden cottage in Narrabundah, Canberra and we bought and transported it to our block of freehold land in Kurrajong Street. In this picture the laundry window is on the left and the kitchen is on the right. The back door is to the left, out from the laundry.
The left hand boundary is just out of shot on the left. You can clearly see the strong and new piers (capped concrete Besser blocks) which raised the house high off the ground and ensured it is level.
On the right, the property boundary is the fence line on the other side of the creek, you can just make out. |

This view is of the front of the house and shows the bulk of the block - basically flat and useable. The block size is 1 088 square metres which includes the creek on the right hand side of this photo. The bank of 4 large windows is the lounge room and the smaller window to the right is in one bedroom. The piers which raise the house off the ground are clearly visible. |
|
This picture is of the complete cottage showing the front door, the lounge windows and one of the bedrooms to the right. The second bedroom is behind the visible one.

A lot of work needs to be done to this house, which is why the price is so reasonable.
What has been done:
new roof (corrugated iron) new piers and stumping all interior walls + ceilings have been re-plastered and painted Water has been connected, electricity is available |
|
What needs to be done is to fit out the toilet, bathroom and kitchen
If you have dogs, this house will suit you because
It is located at the far end of a cul de sac so there is no through traffic and no traffic at speed. There is only one neighbour and the house blocks that neighbour from the dogs.
Palerang Council has no dog numbers limit (under NSW State Government laws). If the Council receives complaints about noise or health issues they have the power to enforce you to reduce the numbers of dogs.
Travel time to the Dogs ACT dog show grounds in Canberra is 45 minutes - all sealed roads Barton is 40 minutes, Queanbeyan is 30 minutes, Civic centre is 45 minutes.

This is the dining area with the kitchen to the left. You can see the freshly plastered walls with electricity cables laid behind them and revealing access points for power. The nearest (and only) neighbour's house can be seen through the windows. The bathroom is on the other side of the wall to the right.

The view out of the lounge room windows. Not a person or house in sight, and you look across the block (where the dogs would be enjoying the sunshine) to a hill beyond. An occasional horse or kangaroo grazes on that slope. |

$ 150 000 is the price of this piece of quiet country life.
Yes, you will have to do the interior fit out. But - you have the opportunity to put in the kitchen you want and need, not have to make do with someone else's ideas.
Please contact Richard Herba by email for more information or to arrange to inspect this house and land.
